Reverse Osmosis, also known as RO, is a physical process which allows dissolved salts to be removed by forcing water to pass through a semipermeable membrane. The permeate or product water, passes through the membrane, whilst the dissolved solids which are unable to pass, are conveyed to the drain as concentrate or reject water.

How it works

Reverse Osmosis is very effective in treating seawater, brackish, surface and ground water for both large and small flow applications. Some examples of industries that use RO water include seawater desalination, pharmaceutical, boiler feed water, food and beverage, metal finishing and semiconductor manufacturing to name a few. Magflow Reverse Osmosis skids employ the duty of Fedco/ ERI / duplex stainless steel hi-pressure pumps, capable of exerting 60bar pressure, which are designed and manufactured purely for RO applications. Magflow has sourced industry leading components to ensure plant longevity and economical running costs. A choice of membranes is available for a host of applications, including H.P. membranes for desalinating seawater, BW membranes for treating brackish water and L.P. membranes for purifying tap water.
