Gravity Belt Thickner

The EMO Gravity Belt Thickener range has been especially designed for very high capacity installation. Its mechanical functions and components have been adapted to process conditions up to 200m3/h of raw sludge per GBT.

Gravity Belt Thickner Information

The EMO Gravity Belt Thickener is engineered for the continuous mechanical thickening of municipal and industrial sludge, reducing sludge volume by a factor of four or more. With its low energy and polymer consumption, stainless steel construction, and minimal maintenance requirements, the GBT is a reliable and efficient solution for high-capacity sludge treatment operations.

Key Applications:

  • Final Thickening Stage: Increases sludge dry solids (DS) concentration to 6–8%, effectively replacing conventional static thickeners or flotation systems.

  • Pre-Dewatering: Functions in-line with a Belt Filter Press to enhance dewatering efficiency and performance.

  • Anaerobic Digestion Optimization: Reduces sludge volume prior to digestion, minimizing digester size and associated infrastructure costs.

Designed for installations processing up to 200 m³/h of raw sludge per unit, the EMO GBT is ideal for large-scale treatment plants requiring high performance under demanding conditions.
